Quiver Tree Sunset

Quiver Tree Sunset

We visited Namibia in April, and after having a look at some fossils, the property owner told us to return to this spot at sunset "with some drinks", which we duly did, much to our delight.

Algonquin Sunset

by Daniela Negreda
(Lausanne, Switzerland)

I drove from Toronto to Algonquin park to capture the fall colours a October a couple of years ago. I drove all afternoon and arrive to see the most spectacular sunset. The fall colours were amazing as well, but no doubt this is my favourite image of the trip!

The Corner House -Nottm

by Akhtar Khan
(UK)

This picture was taken at night. There was lot of traffic and people walking around and crossing the road. I had to wait long time to let the area quite down. Finally, I got the moment I was waiting and the result is this image. I had my tripod set next to Traffic Light signal, wearing my luminous jacket for safety alert. Camera setting was adjusted appropriately for taking traffic light trails.

I thought the light captured in this portrait resulted in an image worth submitting under this month's topic. I am not sure what to do with the shadows?

Great Sand Dunes National Park

by Lance Gitter
(Thornhill, Ontario, Canada)

Late evening light plays upon the Great Sand Dunes National Park in Southern Colorado. The rim lighting from the setting sun was magical in the play of textures and patterns.

We had the opportunity to photograph again early the next morning and found a completely different look to the dunes.
