Dreamy Daisy

by Lance Gitter
(Thornhill, Ontario, Canada)

The play of colour, the form and the tenderness of this gerbera daisy is what I love about this image. This was taken at one of your workshops, Julie, which you ran at the Toronto Digital Photo Club in May. An oil painting filter effect was added to give it a different look.

Explosion

by Wayne Elliott
(Oakville, ON)

This image was taken in my home using north window light. It is a spider mum with some light just brushing the tips of the petals. It reminds me of fireworks hence the title.

Illusive

Illusive

Taken in the morning in a field of Namaqualand daisies in South Africa, this image was captured by being flat out on my belly with my elbows performing as a tripod. I zoomed, with my extension tubes attached, through the flowers to hone in on one shy bud surrounded by vignettes of what it would become.

Red tulip

by Akhtar Khan
(Nottingham, UK)

My wife is a keen garden hobby,She makes me visits to several garden centres within 20 miles radius from our home.Obviously, never come back home empty handed. Then make me do all the hard work, digging, preparing the ground work, putting plants food & fertilisers. Story doesn't end there, I have to do the watering them every day. She checks each plant daily and if she sees a new flower she make sure that I take a good photo of it so that she can save them on her laptop hard drive. This is one many. Its beautiful so I thought I should upload it for this month's competition.
