The shearer at work needs a good pair of work boots. We weren't at the sheep yards - he was at the Dovedale Country Fair.

The Spirit of Ecstasy
by Mabel Au
(Mississauga, Ontario, Canada)
This figurine tells you what kind of luxury vehicle you are looking at. It is standing on the hood of a CAD$571,000 Rolls-Royce, shot at the 2013 Toronto Auto Show.
edit -- Mabel uploaded a new image, and writes: "Note: Julie, MS Picture Manager somehow changed the color when I reduced the size, I've eliminated the red color in the background. "
Waiting for Flowers

This beautiful vase has been ours for over 50 years. It stands about 30" tall and features a manufacturing serial number. I think we will keep it around for a while.
Snow Leopard Cub

Snow Leopard Cub
While visiting the Cape May NJ zoo, this 6 month snow leopard cub caught my attention. There were two of them yet this one seemed more outgoing and playful. The entire photo shows the cub chewing on a piece of a log in the cage. Did my best to take the photo at an angle to eliminate the cage.
Dreaming In Overdrive
by Ron Chalecki
(Hamilton ON, Canada)
This was at the end of a cruise night an cars were leaving the park. As the light had fallen off, shutter speeds had also. I decided to take advantage of that and strive for some blur. This image was my favourite, given the car being a Corvette and liked the effect I achieved. Added some diffusion to better simulate a dreamlike appearance.

A trip to Niagara Falls in the middle of winter on a bright sunny and very cold day was a feast for the eyes. The trees were all covered in ice. Walking through the park was magical!

Walking a trail in the trees we could see only part of this rainbow in the late afternoon light. Sometimes a part is enough.

This is my first macro image I took it with Julie's workshop last week. It open my eyes that image will look much different than using other lens. Also, the feel from the image is kind of romantic (in my opinion)!

A calm morning at Milnthorpe Wharf, Golden Bay, New Zealand made the reflections magical!

Alpaca at the Fair
by Wendy Reeve
This friendly alpaca in the pet’s corner at our local Country Fair, was interested in everything happening around it. I was intrigued to see the Fairground reflected in its eyes.
I wonder...said the puppy...

Flower & a Puppy
An artificial flower and a 11 week old puppy....now what could you do with that.
Well as you all might know puppies have more energy and curiosity than most of us put together. Here I was doing some portrait shots of Cassie (the puppy) and we came up with the idea of...yes you guessed it, how do we get the puppy to do something cute? What would the puppy do with the flower?
I captured this image in the split second she sat still observing, just before she pounced at the flower.
I also have a series of shots where the last one is her crashing into the flower and squeezing her eyes shut on contact. Priceless...

''Part of a web''
PART OF A WEB
A creative part of a web. All I did was to put it out of focus & shoot into the light to create spectral highlights.
Bird of Paradise
(Saskatchewan, Canada/Jalisco, Mexico)
The third female petal emerges from the bract of the Bird of Paradise plant. While it's tempting to display a shot of the entire flower, in keeping with this month's theme I chose to focus on the female petal only, as my eye is always draw to the contrasting colour within this magnificent beauty. It's definitely one of my favourite back yard plants .... our hummingbirds think so too. ;-)

I found this "part of a whole" in the port town, Seydisfjirdur, Iceland. The stern and it's reflection made me want to capture only this part of the "Tiger Boat!"
