On a Boat

by Luba Citrin
(Thornhill, ON, Canada)

Taken on a recent trip to Georgian Bay Islands. This piece was bolted on a motorboat deck. Looked very interesting to me.

Rope and Water

by Barbara Bender
(Maple, Ontario, Canada)

I was standing on the balcony of our boathouse at our cottage and noticed, in the water below, the colourful towrope from the inflated "skippy" that my grandchildren had been tubing in. It was moving about in the current and waves, and I found the constantly changing line pattern fascinating.

What a Pistil!

by Stephen
(Toronto, ON, Canada)

Every morning on a recent vacation I got up and walked the property looking for flora and fauna. This is a close-up shot of the Pistil of a wild Caribbean flower that was prolific on the property where I stayed.

Shot at Bronte Creek Provincial Park. There is a restored farm house and barns and this image caught my eye at one of the out-buildings.

visions of the city

by Lance Gitter
(Thornhill, Ontario, Canada)

I loved the reflections of the buildings in this box of sunglasses on the vendor's cart on a street corner in downtown New York (could be any large city). I added texture using Adobe's free "pixel bender" plug in for Photoshop.

Party's Over

by David Manuel
(Oshawa, ON, CANADA)

I occasionally take my camera on my daily dog walk and on this day was pretty uninspired. Every year a new group of kids setup a 'get-away-from-the-adults' camp in the ravine where we walk and this is the remnants of the previous night's get together.
I was experimenting with the 'grunge' look and thought: 'What could be grungier than this?"
I love the way the mundane can be seen in a new light.

Sprinkler Head

by Sam Cox
(Loveland, CO USA)

Sprinkler head shot hand-held at 1/4000, ISO 100, f/5.6 with an off-camera (wired) high-speed sync flash at about 5 inches from subject. Lens is 15-85mm zoom at 85mm on a 1.6 crop factor body (effective focal length = 136 mm). Camera, lens and flash got wet; so did photographer. The cats all laughed!
